I am honored with the receipt of
Your Excellency's letter of the 25th January
giving a Copy to a Minute in Council under date the 22nd of the same Month
on the subject of a House belonging to Mr. Lane, and which it is proposed should be hired by Government for
a residence for me, with the understanding, that I bear such portion of the Rent as may be considered reasonable under the existing regulations
Having transmitted this Minute to Mr. Commissary General Coffin, together with a letter,
Copy of which is enclosed, to
His Excellency, Sir Henry Pottinger, Bart,
etc. etc. etc.
